When I heard that Lisa Potter-Dixon was launching her own brand, I knew what ever she did would be amazing. I was right! Here’s the low down on the incredible Champagne and Smoke Filthy Rose Scented Candle.
What is Champagne and Smoke Filthy Rose?
Filthy Rose is a scented candle and the debut launch from new lifestyle brand, Champagne and Smoke:
- Scent is inspired by the debaucherous 70s disco scene and evokes sexy, smoky dance floors
- Contains 15% fragrance oil (the average scented candle varies from 5-15%)
- Comes in a heavy, hand blown leopard inspired glass vessel
- Each candle is hand poured in the UK in small batches
- The blend uses soy wax and natural fragrances
- 250g candle has an average burn time of 60 hours (1kg size, 120 hours)
- Each candles comes in a 100% cotton reusable bag

Filthy Rose combines the scent of Damson rose, Tobacco, Saffron, Amyris & Black pepper.
My Review
I have to start off by saying, my partner has the most dreadful sense of smell. Often, he can barely smell anything (good or bad!) but he can smell this candle! It is certainly no exaggeration to say that Filthy Rose seriously packs a punch. It is fantastic.
As soon as it’s lit, it quickly fills the room with this beautiful heady rose, which then leaks out to the hallways and up the stairs. It fills the house.
The fragrance is so sophisticated. It is rich and thick and you almost feel like you can touch it! I love the contrast of velvety rose and a sexy leathery vibe that just feels so grown up and edgy. Grown up and edgy is something I am absolutely not, but something I’d love to be, so this candle fills the gap!
The quality of the wax itself is amazing. I accidentally touched the wax when I was admiring Filthy Rose, and I rubbed what I had picked up on to the back of my hand. It is literally full of oil and actually felt really good on my skin, plus I was then wearing Filthy Rose as a fragrance! I’m not recommending you do this, but ….. if you’re really careful, it could work!!

The other thing I love about Champagne and Smoke Filthy Rose is the glass vessel it comes in. It’s absolutely stunning and a true keepsake that can repurposed for a myriad of things once it’s fully burnt out. Mine is still going strong though, so that’s a future project!
