Jennifer Lopez’s Crystal-Covered Nails Make the Case for Loud Luxury

If anyone is going to have an intricate, luxurious manicure, It’s Jennifer Lopez. The mani muse can make an old fashioned French manicure feel extra fancy and exciting, so when she started experimenting with crystal-inspired nail looks, we knew we were in for a treat. First, she wore a “moonstone” manicure to the Wicked premiere, and just yesterday, she performed on-stage wearing a crystallized nail look we’d wager is worth hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars.

At the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Lopez made her return back to the stage to celebrate 1001 seasons of Elie Saab designs. The singer has frequented the designer’s sequined gowns throughout the years, and opened up the show in a glittery fringy bodysuit with a manicure that was just as extra.

Lopez’s blingy manicure was crafted by none other than manicurist Tom Bachik, who posted close-ups of the nails and a breakdown of the look to his Instagram. With a square shape, Lopez’s nails were decked out in shimmering diamonds—each nail was adorned with different shaped crystals stacked on top of one another. “When @jlo asks for a Diamond Mani,” he captioned the video, showing off the nails shimmering in the camera light.

To get the look, Bachik prepped the nails using his Tweezerman Nail Care Kit and applied Aprés Nails coffin tips. The manicurist then applied Mia Secret Chrome Silver Gel Paint for a silver base before topping it with a chrome powder from Bachik’s upcoming brand. The last step? “Swarovski Crystals for that extra touch of glam.” Casual!

Lopez collaborated with makeup artist Scott Barnes and hairstylist Andrew FitzSimmons on her glam for the night, which featured a pretty blowout with loose waves and a bold colorful eyeshadow look. She wore an eye-catching glittery purple shadow across her lid that was paired with black eyeliner in her lash and water line. The rest of her makeup was standard, and included lots bronzer and a nude lipgloss.
