I have a confession: I still have all of my skinny jeans. No, I didn’t donate them, put them in storage, or even shove them to the depths of my closet. They have been neatly folded, front and center of my closet, waiting patiently like a faded pop star of yore anticipating their comeback. But did they ever really go away?
When Gen Z unapologetically announced their demise, a fellow elder millennial whispered to me at a work event, “Do you really think skinny jeans are over? But how can we tuck our jeans into our boots?” She raised a valid point. How do you tuck wide leg or barrel jeans into a boot? This is more than a hypothetical question.
The good news is that skinny jeans are back! And so are many other trends loved by millennials. Cheugy? I don’t think so. (Also, is using the word “cheugy” cheugy?) It turns out that many of the millennial-isms that were mocked for not being cool are driving the hottest looks for spring. Read on for these familiar trends that are having a revival. If you’re lucky, you might even have them at the back of your closet. Nostalgia sold separately.
