LONDON — The British Academy Film Awards, otherwise known as the BAFTAs is the penultimate awards ceremony before the Oscars next month.
“Doctor Who” actor David Tennant hosted the 78th BAFTA awards at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. The award show was broadcasted on BBC One at 7 p.m.
The award ceremony opened with the host singing “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers in a traditional Scottish kilt.

The top nominees of the night include “Conclave” with 12 nods followed by “Emilia Pérez” with 11, “The Brutalist” with 9 and 7 nods to “Anora,” “Dune: Part Two” and “Wicked.”
The Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” received six nominations as did “Kneecap.”
The nominees arrived in high shine with sparkling outfits and matching jewels.

The leading ladies championed designers across the globe – “Wicked” costars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande wore custom Louis Vuitton, while Demi Moore wore a custom heavily embellished gown from Alexander McQueen and Pamela Anderson in Jacquemus.
Felicity Jones, who played Erzsébet Tóth in the second half of “The Brutalist” wore a custom black dress from Armani Privè with a diamond bracelet, ring and earrings from Chaumet.

She competed in the best supporting actress category alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Isabella Rossellini, and Zoe Saldaña, who won the award on the night.
The red carpet wasn’t shy off black tie attire with Adrien Brody, Ralph Fiennes and Sebastian Stan arriving in a sharp black tuxedo. The three men are all competing in the leading actor category for their respective roles in “The Brutalist,” “Conclave” and “The Apprentice,” a biopic based on U.S. President Donald Trump.
Timothée Chalamet wore a black Bottega Veneta suit with a Cartier necklace that featured a panther pendant. His date for the night was Kylie Jenner, who wore a black dress.
