Like several other baby registries, BabylistOpens a new window offers a welcome box that introduces parents to just a sampling of the many baby brands available. Although the welcome box isn’t free, many parents say the quality samples and multiple coupons make it worth shelling out the small shipping fee.
In addition to a shipping fee, Babylist has a few other requirements you must fulfill in order to claim your Hello Baby Box. Below, we explain how to get your Babylist welcome box.

How to get your Babylist baby registry welcome box
- Start a Babylist baby registryOpens a new window. This is a fairly straightforward process, in which you share some basic information, like your name and your due date. You’ll also need to share your shipping address so Babylist knows where to send the Hello Baby Box (as well as any purchased gifts).
- Add at least 30 items from the Babylist registry checklist to your registry. When you start your registry, Babylist sends a list of recommended items that (hopefully) make life a little easier once baby arrives.
- Add at least three items from the Babylist Shop to your registry. The Babylist Shop sells thousands of items from popular brands like UppaBaby, Lovevery and FridaBaby. These items can come from the checklist so you can accomplish two tasks at once.
- Add at least three items from other stores to your registry. The beauty of a universal registry is that you can add items from other retailers, whether it’s a big-box store like Amazon or small shops on Etsy. Again, if you add items from the checklist, you’re checking off two tasks at once.
- Make a minimum purchase of $30 from the Babylist Shop. If you want your Hello Baby Box now, then you can make the purchase yourself. But if you have some patience, you can wait for someone else to buy a gift. Once this purchase has been made, you — and only you — can add the Hello Baby Box to your cart.
- Verify your address and pay $8.95 for shipping. You may also have to pay a small tax fee, depending on your location. (And if you live in Hawaii or Alaska, you are subject to a shipping surcharge.) Note that only customers in the continental U.S. can receive the box.
Babylist doesn’t share what’s in their welcome box, mainly because the items vary based on availability and popularity. But BabyCenter community members have shared the contents of their Hello Baby Box, with many saying their box contained:
- A bodysuit
- A bottle
- A pacifier
- A bib
- A sample pack of diapers
- Travel-size baby lotion and shampoo
- Some coupons
Some moms also said they received diaper cream, hats, mittens and even hydration packs. Though it might not seem like a huge haul, many BabyCenter community members say the Hello Baby Box is worth the $8.95 shipping fee; not only do some of these items make for great diaper bag fillers, but they allow you to test products and brands before you buy them. After all, not all babies like the same items.
Once you’ve set up your Babylist baby registryOpens a new window and ordered your welcome box, don’t forget to link your Babylist registry to our Registry Builder so that you can manage all of your registries in one place for easy sharing.
