I am an unabashed fan of my Stanley Quencher tumbler—my two teens and I all own Stanley water tumblers and use them daily. I am writing this very piece with my Stanley perched next to me on my desk, ready and waiting to fulfill my never-ending quest for hydration. 

But even I, in my love for the strawed Stanley, admit that it is a challenging water bottle to take on the go. It’s heavy, you can’t toss it in a bag without fear of it spilling, and if it tips over, it’s an instant mess. The challenges of the traditional Stanley tumbler are what make the new Stanley Cross Bottle, a 23-ounce wearable water bottle, so intriguing. 

Built with the features and aesthetics of the Stanley—right down to appealing colors like lilac, cream, rose quartz, and mist— the Cross Bottle adds the practicalities of a camping canteen with a comfortable carrying strap, generous spill-proof water cap, and stainless steel insulation for up to 12 hours. The wearable water bottle trend is an intriguing one, so we dug up some other crossbody water bottle options from Amazon to help you hop on the portable hydration bandwagon. 

Stanley Cross Bottle

First things first, we have to talk about the newly launched Stanley Cross Bottle. This beauty combines everything we love about Stanley water bottles, from their non-toxic stainless steel construction that can magically keep ice cold for 12 hours even in sweltering heat, to the straw that makes sippin’ seamless, to the aesthetic colors my teens love, with some updated practicalities for daily life. 

The large padded strap reaches down to your hips and would make taking your Stanley on a walk or commute so easy (I walk to work almost every morning and I admit, my current Stanley does get heavy!), while the oversized water cap protects from spills and wayward bugs or dust from getting into your water. It even has a silicone bottom to prevent loud clangs and add a second level of protection. 

The bottle holds 23 ounces of liquid, measures approximately 9.3 x 5 x 2.5 inches, and weighs just under 3 pounds. (For reference, a 40-ounce Stanley Quencher weighs 1.4 pounds, but keep in mind, the Cross Body distributes the weight thanks to the carrying strap.)

The Stanley Cross Bottle may be an exciting new product launch, but it’s not Stanley’s first wearable water bottle. The original water canteen is available on Amazon and provides the same functionality, stainless steel design, 1.1-quart capacity, twist and pop top, and a removable carrying strap. Plus, it’s dishwasher safe and there’s no straw to clean, so it’s fully hands-free from wear to cleaning. And when you look at that price, I have to say this Stanley looks mighty appealing. Choose from black, cream, or straight stainless steel colors and a super cool Stanley-stamped strap. 

Bottle Joy Stainless-Steel Water Bottle

A budget-friendlier option, this stainless steel water bottle from Bottle Joy comes in 16, 32, or 40-ounce sizes and is fully equipped and ready to wear with an integrated, removable carrying strap. This thing is so well insulated that Bottle Joy claims it will keep liquids hot or cold for 24 hours and ice intact for three full days. It’s also dishwasher safe (the top twists off and you remove the strap before washing). 

The one downside I see to the Bottle Joy is how round it is, so it may not be the comfiest thing to carry against your body for long periods of time. However, the fact that it can hold more than the Stanley is a plus to consider. “Bought this for a trip and it was fantastic! Kept my water ice cold. It’s big so it lasted most of the day. I loved the wide strap that came with it—very comfortable to wear,” shared one happy traveler.

Designed for the serious hydrator, the Trebo is a 64-ounce water bottle that comes with everything you need for a day out—the water bottle, a grab handle, a cross-body carrying pouch with strap, three lids, straws, and cleaning brushes. There’s only one indigo-black color combination available, but if staying hydrated is your main goal, this bundle will have you covered. 

Reviews are honest about what a beast of a bottle this is, so the carrying strap is a bit of a must-have item if you decide to buy it. Its size is great for athletes, and one Amazon shopper pointed out how useful the handle is in the gym: “Its versatility really stood out to me at the gym. I could easily hang it on various machines, and carrying it with me was a breeze.”

My two teenage daughters and I are always on the hunt for useful accessories for our Stanley water bottles and this carrier bag is right up there as one of my favorite finds. It transforms your Stanley into a wearable water bottle thanks to a carrying strap that extends from 27.5 to 50 inches and can be worn crossbody, over the shoulder, or carried by hand.

Plus, it includes a zippered compartment for stashing money, credit cards, and chapstick, and has a touchscreen clear cell phone pocket to keep scrolling on the go. “I was tired of carrying my heavy Stanley all day long so I got this carrier so I wouldn’t have to carry [it] at my daughter’s long dance competitions. A removable and adjustable padded shoulder strap connects to the sleeve and extends between 27.5 and 50 inches. 

The sleeve colors also align with many popular Stanley colors, like lilac, black, gray, cream, rose, blue, and pink. “It fits my Stanley perfectly and helps keep my drinks cold for over 24 hours,” wrote one satisfied Amazon shopper.

It has a drawstring cinch closure top that can accommodate 32 to 40-ounce water bottles and a 4 x 5 x 12-inch size. “This fits my 40 oz. water bottle perfectly. It’s decently comfortable to wear around and comes with small shoulder padding for the strap. It has pockets to fit my phone, wallet, foldable fan, and some small snacks in the two side pockets,” commented one Amazon shopper who was excited to take her holder on her Disney trip. 

There’s a handle holder for quick grab as well as a shoulder strap to transform your water bottle into a crossbody or shoulder carry, and plenty of pockets—a zippered compartment offers a safe space for valuables and two open side pockets are touted for stashing easy-access snacks (super important). 

Minicat Crossbody Bag 

The “yellow wavy” grass weaving detail of this crossbody bag just screams “beach day” to me (and according to the product images, I’m not the only one). You probably won’t be able to fit a 40-ounce Stanley into this bag, but you can fit a small water bottle and your beach or daily essentials to tote around easily. The shoulder strap adjusts from 18 to 22 inches and the main compartment is 4 x 8 inches with a drawstring water bottle pocket. 

“This easily fits cards (in a dedicated zipper pocket), phone, floss, lip balm, keys, and a mineral powder sunscreen. The material is soft. I bought the colorful, striped bag. It gives off just the right amount of boho,” raved one Amazon shopper. (Note: some reviews do mention the zippers are a cheaper quality, so keep that in mind if you rely on the zipper function.)
